ABOUT US
Our mission is to help Serrano homeowners reduce the risk of wind-driven embers igniting their homes and spreading fire through the community.
Description
Fire Safe Serrano is a nonprofit group of Serrano residents dedicated to helping homeowners reduce wildfire risk. We provide:
Home and block assessments that help homeowners and neighbors understand their specific wildfire risk and identify practical mitigation actions informed by fire science and best practices.
Education on Serrano-specific vulnerabilities, including home hardening and defensible-space strategies, delivered through emails, videos, social media posts, and community events.
Annual Firewise USA® application, which maintains our community’s good standing and documents homeowner risk-reduction projects, volunteer efforts, and HOA investments in vegetation management across open space, production front yards, and common areas.
Grant funding applications to support defensible-space and home-hardening projects in Serrano.
